Wockhardt is a global, pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Company headquartered in India and subsidiaries in Europe & US. Wockhardt preferred Godrej Koerber Supply Chain Ltd. to supply fully automated AS/RS system for their upcoming SEZ at Shendra, Aurangabad.

Challenges:

Wockhardt has selected Godrej Körber Supply Chain Ltd. to supply fully automated AS/RS system for their upcoming SEZ. At present system is under commissioning and is expected to be operational by early 2009.

System Features:

Warehouse Dimensions .
7000 pallets capacity warehouse offering flexibility to store Raw Material / Finished Goods & Packaging material in common warehouse.
10 high double deep racking system with 18.5 meter height building.
Two curving Storage/Retrieval Machines operational in 4 Aisles.
Throughput – 40 pallets /hour.
Warehousing software integrated with SAP.

Key Drivers For AS/RS:

Wockhardt team was evaluating heavy duty mobile storage system for their green field warehouse on account of highly densed storage system with basic level of automation in operations. While evaluating ASRS against HDM system team found that ASRS not only offers high density storage but was also offering high level of automation and huge saving in floor area at significantly higher thru-put vis-a-vis HDM.
